Originally founded in the 1970's the club was restructured in 2004 and reverted to it's original 'Cougars' name. Since the re-organisation we are constantly moving forward with new developments. The club currently has four men's teams playing in the local LBBL and a junior team playing in the LJBL competition. The 2009/10 season sees Coalville Basketball Club raise the bar yet again with the addition of our new EBL National League team.

Over the past few years we have introduced the 'Coalville Junior Cougars' youth development programs at Castle Rock High School for 11 to 16 year olds. We have also forged strong links with many other schools by providing regular Basketball coaching for children as young as 8 years.
